Spotted And Broken View

As I look through my glasses I see a spotted and broken picture of the reality around me.

Lately I’ve found myself wondering what God’s Kingdom will look like when it’s fully revealed. Many Christians have a distorted view of the Christian life. Jesus didn’t come, teach, give all and unexpectedly come back just so that you and I could look forward to leaving the earth. When we say yes to God’s grace, and take upon ourselves the love of God shown through Jesus Christ, then we become active participants within this thing we call the Kingdom of God. Yes, all things are within God’s Kingdom but many people choose to deny this fact or are unaware of the Kingdom.

So as a Christian, actively aware of my participation within God’s Kingdom, I wonder what does the fulness of this Kingdom look like?

I need my glasses to see. Without them, everything around me looks like blobs of fuzz. My glasses are old though. Not only are they old, but they’ve survived the years that I’ve had two small children. The glasses now have scratches and spots that I can’t seem to clean. My world, as I see it through my glasses is a spotted and broken picture of reality. So is the Kingdom today. Despite this brokenness we still catch glimpses of what the Kingdom will someday look like.

We see it in the birth of a new child.
We see it in the loving care of a mother or father.
We see it in the sacrifice of one’s life for that of another.
We see it in the cooling rain on a hot summer’s day.

So I ask you again, what do you think it would look like if we could remove the spotted, broken pieces of this world?

What does the fulness of God’s Kingdom look like?

Whatever it is, lets do that!
